From one table to 1,200 varieties
Moss Rose Nursery started in 2011 as a driveway table of portulaca flats grown behind our house on Table Rock Rd. The moss rose sold out in a weekend, the table became a bench, and the benches became the nursery that now carries 1,200+ varieties across three greenhouses.
We are still family run. We grow a share of our own stock, harden every flat off outdoors before it reaches the sale benches, and back shrubs and perennials with a 30-day replacement. The rule from that first table still holds: if we would not plant it in our own yard, it does not go on the bench.
Twelve seasons of repeat visits
I bring a photo of the bed each spring and leave with flats matched to the light. Twelve years running now.

Their tags mean what they say: full sun here means Rogue Valley full sun. What they mark for my slope thrives on it.

The raised-bed mix and compost by the bag beat anything I hauled from the chains, and they carry it to the car.
